Story: A clean tale, the story begins with Narayana Rao (rajendra prasad) who is a school master in a village. He is quite simple and is very patriotic. He constantly strives to make the lives of the students and villagers better. Apparently, Narayana Rao lives in the USA for quite a long time and returns to his village after a gap. But all that bonding and human contact that used to exist is no longer there and everyone is more greedy and materialistic. Narayana Rao is hurt by this but he vows to change things and starts a new mission. Whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a well intentioned storyline and while the presentation was nice, the narrative was adequate. The dialogues were well written, the script was sensible but the screenplay was good in parts. Background score was decent and three songs were worth listening. Cinematography was upto the mark. Editing was required in few places to cut the drag. Costumes were natural and traditional while the art department was realistic. Rajendra Prasad has delivered yet another exceptional performance, he simply fits into the role. He got good support from Kalyani who gave a matured act. Chalapathi Rao was standard. Siva Parvathi was good. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: These are the days when films come with only one objective- box office returns. At a time like this, a breath of fresh air has been experienced with this movie. The subject chosen is quite contemporary and this is something we see in daily life. But the way it has been handled is quite effective. While the first half has a smooth take off the second half has few drag sequences. Overall, the film’s intention is good but then at times it got a little over the edge in preaching. This is a film which has to be watched for its message and the efforts of the makers to do whatever good they can through the powerful medium of cinema. So, giving a commercial rating is not applicable.

IdleStars verdict: Sensible and touching…
