Story: An interesting tale the story begins with a young man (manoj) who comes to a place called Gandharva Mahal. This belongs to Naidu (prabhu) and the young man takes up a room for rent. Soon, he manages to vacate the tenants who stay illegally. In between, he also falls in love with Jagadha (deeksha), daughter of Naidu. The story takes a turn when Naidu’s elder daughter’s marriage is fixed and the young man begins to experience something spooky at Gandharva Mahal. One thing leads to another and one by one the entire mystery behind the Gandharva Mahal is unveiled. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not that appealing. The dialogues were routine, the script was alright but the screenplay was good in parts. Background score was decent and two songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was excellent. Editing was required during the first half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was excellent. Nandamuri Balakrishna delivers yet another powerful performance and he looks very royal in his outfits. Manchu Manoj was energetic and delivers his part well. Deeksha Seth was sexy and her oomph factor was good. Sonu Sood was standard. Sai Kumar didn’t have much to do. Prabhu was okay. The real person to watch out for is Lakshmi Manchu. Though her role is very short, she has delivered a riveting act. Praveen, Richard, Madhumita, Ajay and others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The film has come in with a lot of hype and expectations and with the Balayya factor the impact has been quite high. However, while the first half was rather amateur with some weak comedy and interestingly picturized songs the real story actually gets into momentum during the second half. The climax part is attention grabbing. Overall, this is a movie which will get good share of collections. IdleStars verdict: Good thought, Medium Horror Treat... |
