Story: A remake tale, the story begins with Eshwar Prasad (jagapathi babu), a tough and honest cop, assigned a task. He is told to get rid of Nandiswarudu (tarakaratna) known for running a parallel system through muscle power. But Eshwar’s associates reveal the story behind how Nandiswarudu was once Nandu, an aspiring IPS officer. His nature of fighting injustice gets him into the path of the noted goon Baba (ajay). In that process, Nandu begins eliminating Baba’s henchmen and emerges as Nandiswarudu. However, Eshwar Prasad challenges that he would eliminate Nandiswarudu despite knowing the whole story. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a rehashed storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not that intense. The dialogues were good at places, the script was written with moderate appeal and screenplay was quick. Background score was good and three songs were impressive. Cinematography was okay. Editing was not upto the mark. Costumes were average while the art department was moderate. Tarakaratna has come up with an involved performance and he gives his best in all departments. Sheena looked sexy in songs but nothing for her in terms of acting or scenes. Jagapathi Babu was the best among the lot, he was suave and natural. Ajay was good but not used to the fullest. Rajeev Kanakala was good. Suman, Seetha, Nagineedu, Banerjee, Delhi Rajeswari were there to fill the screen.

Conclusion: The film is the remake of the Kannada movie ‘Deadly Soma’ and true to the typical Kannada flavour, even this film is a straight lift and shift. While the first half goes in a rather mild manner with the usual elements of fight, unwanted songs and action, it is the second half that really shows some material. Few scenes were good but the climax fight was not that great. Overall, this is a film which lacks the substance to score a success as it cannot appeal to any genre of audience.

IdleStars verdict: Below average!!
