The two directors in the top-notch Lingusamy and Shankar, who are recently said to be teaming up for shooting their next project on Kamal Haasan, are releasing their forthcoming movies Vettai and Nanban on same day, that is on 14th of January on the eve of Pongal.
Director Lingusamy’s Vettai casts Madhavan, Arya,Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the leads. Vettai is being produced by director Lingusamy in his own banner along with Ronnie Screwvala. UTV Motion Pictures, who are releasing Vettai, earlier reported that the movie will be released on 12th January, 2 days before the release of Nanban to grab the audiences, but finally decided to release on the eve of Pongal, as there is a belief that if a film is released earlier to the day of festival, they might not open well, as people will be busy on preparations for the festival.
As reported by Way2movies prior, Vijay’s Nanban is the remake venture of Bollywood hit film 3 Idiots directed by Shankar, will be releasing on the eve of Pongal [14th January]. Nanban also casts Srikanth, Jeeva and Ileana in the leads.
