Story: A regular action tale, the story begins with Maasi (Arjun) who is an honest and tough encounter specialist. But then his target is wipe out two major dons Naaga (pradeep rawath) and Nandha (ponnambalam). Maasi begins to give them sleepless nights and at one point they decide to take revenge and kill Maasi’s wife and mother. This enrages Maasi and he decides to put an end to both the dons but with a very different approach. How does he do that and whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.
Presentation: The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was strong, the narrative was decent. The dialogues were good at place but most of them didn’t have the required depth. The script was average and the screenplay had chances to improve a lot. Background score was nice but songs were a major disappointment. Cinematography was appealing during action sequences. Editing was moderate. Costumes were stylish while the art department didn’t have much to do. Arjun has come up with a matured performance and he was good. Archana and Hema were there for the glamour and other elements. Pradeep Rawath was menacing, Ponnambalam was routine, Kota was strong. The others didn’t have much say.
Conclusion: The film runs on a typical action formula such as a routine 80s or 90s type flick so the focus was on how well the actions of the cast were. Some of the technical values going down suffered in the film. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of songs and fights, the second half was full of hustle bustle and it would appeal to the back benchers considering the drama material in it. At the box office, those who love action and are Arjun fans will enjoy the movie and it will reach a safe zone. Let us see how this goes…
