Rating : 3 / 5
Banner : Pasanga Productions

Music : Girish
Cinematographer : Vijay

Director: Pandiraj
Released Date: February 04, 2012
Story: A well knit tale, the story is about Ambikapathy (pandian) who hails from a small village and reaches Chennai. Though he is scared looking at the city, he decides to brave it. He goes to the marina beach and starts selling water packets. In no time, he becomes friends with an old man (sundararajan), a postman (jithan), a singer (arumugham) and his daughter Annamma (jayashree) along with a bunch of kids who live there. Every evening, a pair of lovers Senthilnathan (siva karthikeyan) and Sopana Sundari (oviya) also come there. There come few situations which bring all these character together and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation: The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was a little unusual. The dialogues were decent, the script was written with value and screenplay was prompt. Background score was good and three songs were there for listening. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were natural while the art department was apt. Siva Karthikeyan was good and his chemistry with Oviya was nice. Oviya looks seductive. Pandian was excellent. Soundararajan was a revelation. The bunch of young boys did a good job. Arumugam was average. Jayashree was neat. The others did their bit as required.
Conclusion: As the title suggests, the film was canned entirely on the backdrop of the Marina beach in Chennai and it captured the moments and lives of the people in the right manner. While the first half goes about with the lighter elements of life, the second half comes up with an interesting twist and the way all of them are brought together is appealing. Technically, the film was well made and this is more like an offbeat genre. At the box office, the film will score above average collections.
