Story: Ram (Dhanush) and Janani (Shruthi) are the 12th class students fall in love. The tender teenage love sprouts between them and grows big.  Ram's parents (Prabhu and Banupriya) and Janani's parents consider these new feelings between the two young ones. Janani's younger sister supports her sister in every aspect of love. Things are ok until then, but what actually happen sis something serious that is unleashed in second half. Watch on big screen to know what actually happens an dhow it ends.

Presentation: Performances wise both Dhanush and Shruthi proved perfect. Sporting a school boy look being the father of a kid is really a marvelous thing to do. Dhanush could do that up to perfection in most convincing way. Shruthi also matched well for the school girl look and she excelled in her role. Prabhu and Shiva Karthikeyan suited their parts well and executed the characterizations deftly.

The film starts like movie with high school backdrop but eventually it ends up with psychological aspects giving a color of off beat. But the flow suffered some hiccups. Care must have been taken in handling the narration part. Being a first timer, Aishwarya Rajni Kanth did her part very well but it could have been far better. On a whole this film is for audience those like to watch the film with patience and appreciate the artistic values.

Conclusion: As the song ‘Kolaveri Di’ turned internationally popular and entertained millions of people through websites, many assumed that the film could be a soft romantic comedy entertainer set on village backdrop. But the film has something else. It has got serious stuff of heroine dying in it.

But the song ‘Kolaveri Di’ pulled the audience to theatres in big way making housefuls. First half of the film is hilarious while interval bang happens with a thrilling moment. Second half goes into dark emotions and there the audiences require taste to receive.

IdleStars Verdict: Watch it for ‘Kolaveri Di’, A different Movie
