Rajinikanth legend awards were renamed as Balachander legend awards the famous director, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner and the Super Star’s mentor K.Balachander.
Superstar Rajnikanth attended the annual day function of his wife Latha’s Ashram Group of Institutions, in Chennai on 19 January, Thursday. Latha Rajinikanth had honoured director Balachander, actress Asha Parekh and late Hindi actor Shammi Kappoor with Rajnikanth Legend Awards by his wife.
Annual day function is fully packed with bigwigs from various fields, along with the school students. Addressing the occasion, Thalaivar said, “I achieved nothing great and so I request you all not to announce awards on my name.” So from now on, the same awards will be announced in the name of Balachander Legend Award every year.
