Akkineni Annapurna Is No More

Veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s wife Annapurna passed away today afternoon at a private hospital. She is 79 years old. Annapurna is suffering from prolonged illness and undergoing the treatment at a private hospital since few days.

Annapurna married Nageswara Rao on February 19, 1949. She hails from Denduluru village of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. She was survived by her husband, three daughters and two sons. Her death shocks entire film industry and fans of the family. Several celebrities from the industry thronged her residence to console the bereaved family members. Annapurna Studios was named after her by ANR. Nagarjuna is on his way to Hyderabad from Bangalore after hearing this sad news.
