Aaranya Kaandam, the movie is directed by Kumararaja Thiyagaraj, a newcomer. The film stars Jackie Shroff, Sampath, Ravikrishna and Yasmeen Ponnappa in lead roles. Set in the backdrop of Chennai, the movie brings light to the dark realities of the city’s underworld, with all its blood and gore. There are elements that are hard-hitting and real in Aaranya Kaandam.
Aaranya Kaandam had a wonderful showing at the National Awards this year picking up two awards for best debutant director which went to Thiagarajan Kumararaja and also the film won the Grand Jury award in the South Asian International Film Festival, NY.
Aaranya Kaandam will have a re - release in the USA this weekend on the 23rd of March. The film will also be dubbed and released in Telugu shortly
