Story: A gripping tale, the story begins with two friends Amudhan (ajay) and Vendhan (srijith) who are studying in college. Amudhan is in love with Poongavanam (sanam) who lives in a village. The vacation time comes and Vendhan goes home while Amudhan stays at hostel. However, he wants to see Poongavanam so he sets to her village. But the villagers believe that there is a ghost Ambuli in the cornfield which kills anyone who passes through that. Amudhan passes through that cornfield and comes across Ambuli. Vendhan gets to know this and the duo goes to find all about Ambuli. They come across Sengodan (parthepan) who lives alone in the forest. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was grand, the narrative was strong. The dialogues were sensible and simple with a wit of their own. The script was average but screenplay was the highlight. Background score was energetic but not all songs were that special. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were natural and stylish while the art department was suiting the moods. Ajay and Srijith have come up with convincing performances and scored. Sanam was pretty and was good in acting department. Parthepan was brief but good. Gokul was scary enough. Thambi Ramaiah was matured. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The film happens to be the first ever 3D stereophonic flick in Tamil. True to its mark, it had enough sound effects mixed with visual effects to keep the audience on the edge of their seat. While the first half comes across as a romantic entertainer, it changes colours and becomes a treat right before the interval. The film also aims at wiping away few superstitious beliefs that many common people have. The second half offers few promising moments. Overall, this is a film which is rich in technique and production. At the box office, it will reach profit zone.

IdleStars verdict: Different, scary and entertaining!!
